In today's fast-paced, high-availability database environments, efficient incident response during database outages is critical. Database Reliability Engineers (DBREs) often face challenges in managing complex outage scenarios, leading to delays in recovery and prolonged downtime. This white paper proposes the development of a Database Outage Response Chatbot to assist DBREs during database outages. The chatbot provides real-time troubleshooting assistance, automates common responses, and integrates with monitoring and alerting systems to improve response times and reduce manual intervention. The paper discusses the challenges, design, benefits, and implementation of such a system, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
